Minister Jin, Distinguished Speakers, Clients, and Honoured Guests,

Thank you so much for taking the time to be with us this evening. It is my great pleasure to welcome you here to celebrate the launch of Hywin Wealth in the UK. Since our company may be new to some of you please allow me to share with you some brief background.

Hywin Financial Holding Group was established almost thirty years ago by our Chairman Mr Hongwei Han and has grown strategically and consistently since that time.

Headquartered in Shanghai, the group now has more than 20 subsidiaries, over 5,000 staff, and around $15bn in assets under management. We operate in five main sectors: these are wealth management, asset management, insurance, financing, culture and tourism. With offices in 50 Chinese cities, Hong Kong, the US, and the UK, we are continuing our growth into becoming a significant international business.

As Minister Jin has mentioned, the dramatic growth in the Chinese economy has created a substantial market for our investment, risk management and wealth management services: and has also encouraged us to build bridges for our clients between China and the international markets.

In this regard, for many of the reasons that Ben has outlined, the UK was our number one choice.

Our view of the opportunity for our core wealth management business in the UK is two fold, to make top quality British style private wealth management available to our domestic clients and to open up the Hywin gateway to China and Asia for European investors.

In China as in Europe the wealth management business is not about money, it is about people. Of course, investment skills and regulatory compliance is paramount in building a successful enterprise and these are areas where we focus very strongly.

But at the end of the day, our business is about serving our clients, earning their trust and building long lasting relationships for mutual benefit. Our clients are successful, demanding and worthy of our respect. Recognition of these facts underpins the way we work at Hywin and has shaped our corporate culture.

In pursuit of our goal to enter the UK We have already made significant steps a few of which I would like to share with you now.

Hywin Capital UK acquired Azure Wealth and the transition was approved by the FCA in January. Our team has doubled in size since then as we have added new hires in relationship management and the investment team.

We will shortly move to new offices at no. 105 Piccadilly that I am pleased to report have plenty of room to accommodate further growth.

We have established a Fund Management division, Rockstone, and will launch our first fund product in July together with Cheyne Capital Management.

Growth in our core private client wealth management business is strong as is our investment performance.

So we had a good start but are not complacent. We will continue to seek out new ideas andapproaches to serve our clients.

Our guiding principle is to differentiate ourselves with innovative but prudent solutions in our three focus areas of wealth management, investment management and corporate finance.

In conclusion, I would like to thank you our clients and friends for your support and to welcome each of you to our new firm, which retains its traditional values and strengths and has now opened the door to the dynamic growth markets of China.

As we continue building our firm in the years to come we would very much like to welcome you to join us on the journey.

Together with my Partners, Massimo, Chris, and Gianmarco; and our senior staff Neal, Kalpana, Stacy, Steven and Kamil, we wish you a wonderful evening.

May I ask you all to raise your glasses to celebrate the launch of Hywin Wealth UK!
